Gilroy, CA – August 1, 2007 –
Sam Advani, President and CEO of Metech International, announced the purchase of
Metech’s electronic waste processing plant located in Gilroy, California. The
three acre, high security facility is specifically designed for the recovery of
precious metals from manufacturing scrap, as well as the de-manufacturing and
certified destruction of materials and systems from the electronics industry. In
addition to the purchase, the facility has undergone a $2 million upgrade.
Among the changes is a major expansion of the shredding, material destruction
and material separation capabilities, as well as improvements to the hazardous
waste processing operations. Sam Advani, Metech’s President and CEO, stated,
“These upgrades improve our productivity and support our increase in business
while decreasing our energy consumption and improving our environmental
footprint. This supports our goals of continuous improvement while being
environmentally aware.” Metech International (www.metechgroup.com),
a pioneer in asset reuse and precious metal recovery, specializes in
environmentally responsible, accountable recycling and reuse of industrial
manufacturing scrap, obsolete inventory, and end-of-life electronics. Through
its Accountable Resource Management® (ARM®) program, the
only one of its kind in the electronics recycling industry, Metech assures
customers complete product stewardship through step-by-step tracking and
accountability for all material handling. This is a critical issue in the face
of growing global concerns about “cradle-to-grave" environmental responsibility
and information security. For more information contact Metech International, 150 Blackstone River Road – Suite M, Worcester, MA 01607-1455. Call 508.795.1950, FAX 508.459.5266. Internet: www.metechgroup.com. |
