Metech International Renews Its IAER Certified Electronics Recycler® Certification
Worcester, MA – March 15, 2006 Metech International, an internationally recognized equipment recycler and service provider to the electronics industry, has renewed its International Association of Electronics Recyclers (IAER) Certified Electronics Recycler® certification for its Worcester, Massachusetts and Gilroy, California facilities. Metech International is a leading recycler of manufacturing scrap and obsolete inventory from the electronics’ industries, as well as end-of-life electronic equipment from all markets. It is headquartered in Worcester, Massachusetts with additional facilities in Gilroy, California and Penang, Malaysia. Through its Accountable Resource Management® (ARM®) program, Metech provides its clients with services that include the recovery of valuable assets such as precious metals, security of their proprietary products and intellectual property, and environmentally responsible recycling and disposition of their electronic materials and equipment. "Continued IAER certification confirms our commitment to the responsible handling of electronic materials,” said Sam Advani, President of Metech. “The IAER Certified Electronics Recycler® program compliments Metech’s existing ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications by adding additional elements including industry specific business practices, finance, security, and employee training, health and safety. These certifications provide us with a globally recognized platform upon which to continuously improve our business practices. We have always held ourselves to a higher standard of quality control and environmental responsibility.” Metech also recently renewed its ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for implementation of a Quality Management System, and ISO 14001 offers a structured Environmental Management System (EMS). All three Metech facilities are ISO certified. In order to maintain certification, the company must pass an audit every three years. The audit, conducted by an independent certification company, is a thorough review of all procedures and processes to confirm compliance and identify areas in need of improvement.
